THE tall ships are coming.
According to http://www.dutchtallships.com, three Dutch-built ships will visit Australia in the lead-up to the 400th anniversary commemorations of WA’s discovery by Europeans in 1616.
Three Dutch ships Tecla, Europa and Oosterschelde are sailing around the world, “wandering the oceans and following the old trade routes of historic times”.
The sea adventure in which members of the public can take part includes crossing the three notorious Dutch capes; Cape of Good Hope, Cape Horn and Cape Leeuwin.
They are expected in Fremantle on July 26. They will also visit Batavia’s “graveyard” off Geraldton as part of the 50th anniversary of the Dutch wreck’s discovery.
The tall ships will be open to the public and be available for charter during their visit to Fremantle until August 2.
