PUBLIC art has been stolen from Wireless Hill leaving the artist devastated.
Yuko Takahashi’s 30cm piece Conversation, featuring a little girl looking up at a stark tree, was installed in October to reflect the park’s “theme of environmental conservation [and] ecological significance”.
But when Ms Takahashi visited the park on May 15 she discovered the work was missing. It was there as recently as two weeks ago.
“I’m really disappointed to know that my artwork has been vandalised,” Ms Takahashi says.
“I was so shocked when I was confronted with my sculpture without my girl.
“It’s very hard to understand how someone could do this kind of thing and very sad to think about.
“I think about my stolen little girl every day and I hope that she has not been discarded somewhere.”
