Chook chief-of-staff Steve Grant is a regular cyclist and scooterer along Cockburn Road and has noticed the stretch around Port Coogee is death valley for local bobtail lizards. With the weather warming up this week, he noticed three new corpses by Wednesday morning.

Cockburn council says no one’s reported skittled skinks in the area, however a lizard-loving staffer would look into it. Chief engineer Michael Littleton says warning signs are Main Roads’ responsibility. He says the council works with Native Arc to rescue injured native animals.
