Rubbish as usual

EAST FREMANTLE council has told residents to put their rubbish bins out as normal despite the company that collects its waste grounding its national fleet this week.

Transpacific, which collects rubbish for several WA councils under subsidiary Cleanaway, took all its trucks off the road after one ploughed into three stationary cars at an intersection in Adelaide on Monday. Two people died and another two were critically injured. The company is having every truck audited before putting them back on the road, and says it’ll work the weekend in East Freo to catch up.
