Discover your creative self
If you have ever dreamed of being an artist then the Freedom School Studio Painting Program may be just what you’re looking for. Working with multi award winning artist David Giles, the program is designed to help you connect with your creative, expressive self.
David Giles has been an art teacher for more than twenty years. Many graduates of the program have gone on to become multi-award winning artists with some exhibiting through Giles’ two galleries – The David Giles Art Gallery, 49B High St Fremantle and Studio Eleven, 11 Captains Lane, near the Roundhouse.
Suitable for all levels including complete beginners, the next 8-week term commences on 7 & 8 August. Choose your preferred day and time: Friday or Saturday from 10am -1pm or 1.30pm – 4.30pm. A trip to the river is planned later in the term, weather permitting. Cost is $265 for the 8 week term.

Trip the Light Fantastic!
Learn to dance at the Shirley Bickley School of Dancing. Styles taught include Ballroom, Latin, New Vogue, Old Time and Sequence dancing. It’s heaps of fun and a great way to keep fit.
Shirley has taught hundreds of brides and grooms their Bridal Waltz, and trained adults and juniors for Dance sport and medal examinations.
Adult classes are held at Hilton Park Bowling Club on Tuesdays from 8.00 to 10.30pm and Cockburn Seniors Centre in Spearwood on Wednesdays from 1.30 to 4.30pm.

The magic of dance
Senior ballet and Spanish dance students from Classical Dance Studio had a fantastic day performing at Dance Live on 3 May in Forrest Place, Perth. Dance Live is an annual outdoor dance performance presented by Ausdance WA as part of Dance Week.
As always, CDS is a hive of activity. Spanish dance students took examinations at the end of Term 2 and are looking forward to receiving the results. Ballet students are attending a course in the July school holidays in preparation for exams in Term 3.
In operation for over 20 years, Classical Dance Studio offers comprehensive dance training from beginner to professional level. Styles taught include classical, Spanish and contemporary. CDS caters for both examination and recreational students. The main studio is well appointed, with a beautiful Tasmanian Oak sprung floor, air conditioning, mirrors and adjustable barres.
