RAVEL’S Bolero rocketed in the charts after Bo Derek seduced Dudley Moore to it in the comedy 10 back in 1980. Now the WA Academy of Performing Arts dance company LINK is set to put more sizzle back into the sensual classic as part of the Fremantle Festival. Acclaimed French choreographer Didier Theron has created Shanghai Bolero and the sensuality builds with the pulsing beat of the music as 10 female and three male dances strut their stuff beneath the Fremantle Arts Centre’s plane trees, climaxing in a scene of writhing semi-naked bodies. Whew. It’s on October 21–24. Tix from Oztix or FAC reception.
