Come on over to Emily’s Corner – a gorgeous new store in Carrington Street Palmyra. A salute to the famous Australian corner shop of an earlier era, Emily’s Corner combines the best of that tradition with the modern conveniences and delicious fresh food of today.

Owned and managed by Leon Strachan, who local foodies will know as the owner of valley favourite cafelumos, Emily’s Corner has been open just over a week and it’s already delighting the neighbourhood. Named after his young niece, Leon wanted the new cafe to have a friendly and sweet name, that not only reflects the nature of his dear niece, but also conveys feelings of familiarity and comfort. As lovers of cafelumos will know, Leon’s focus is always on delivering tasty, high quality food, great service and value for money.

Emily’s Corner serves fabulous food made fresh in-house each day and superb coffee from Toby’s Estate. Call in for a coffee and bite to eat, or grab something to go from the cabinets which are bursting with mouthwatering food including crisp salads, freshly baked pies, muffins, wraps and savoury items.

The menu is divided into Morning, which is available all day and Noon & Night. Morning options include the Emily’s Breakfast Wrap – with crispy bacon, free range eggs, tasty cheddar, avocado and spinach in a toasted pita; the Vegetarian – field mushroom, grilled haloumi, free range eggs, spinach and relish in toasted turkish.

The house baked Banana & Maple bread is a winner, as are the Hash Browns – shredded potatoes turned in to the tastiest, golden morsels.

Noon & Night kicks in at 10.30am, and offers gourmet burgers and salads. There’s also a selection of seafood cooked fresh to order such as Fish & Chips – with battered barramundi, rustic chips and house made tartare.

If you can’t see anything that takes your fancy, it’s not a problem.

“You have the option to order and our chef will prepare something just for you. We are sensitive to various dietary concerns and offer a range of options to suit those that may need gluten or dairy free as well as offering both vegetarian and vegan dishes,” said Leon.

In keeping with the corner store theme, Emily’s Corner stocks a range of quality take home produce, sourced from Australian suppliers where possible such as sliced meats, free range eggs, milk, coffee, preserves, cheeses, yogurt, chocolate and stunning floral arrangements.
