EAST FREMANTLE’S Glyde In community centre is setting up a mini-version of Albany’s highly popular Summer School. Starting in January, there’ll be arts and crafts classes, talks, films, exercise and activities for kids.

Jane Libetter is teaching Japanese and Chinese brush painting. She says living in South East Asia for 12 years influenced her artistic palette. Her Quaker upbringing, which included sitting in silence, also drew her to the artform’s simplicity.
