A HERALD PROMOTIONAL FEATURE:
For the Joy of Dance
Swan River Ballet School aims to inspire its students to embrace the joy of dance. It provides a nurturing, positive and friendly environment, with highly experienced, dedicated teachers. The new ballet school is located at Hamilton House – a beautiful, fully renovated turn of the century building (the former Newmarket Hotel). The school provides a range of classes for students of all ages and abilities. Levels include Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Adult. There’s also the opportunity for students to undertake full time classes, for those wishing to pursue a vocational career in dance. Private tuition classes are available during January with specialist teacher Angela Christian. It’s a great opportunity to hone your classical technique before Term 1 begins.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be establishing a new ballet school for the Cockburn coastal region. The derelict hotel – which has stood empty for many years, has been restored to its natural beauty for the benefit and enjoyment of all the students, young and (slightly) old!” said owner and artistic director Michelle Cleaver-Wilkinson.
“We feel it is important to provide all the facilities and resources to ensure that learning to dance is safe and stress free, allowing each student to achieve a level of expertise according to their capabilities and ideals. To gain the most benefit from our chosen art form, we also aim to develop students self-discipline and overall confidence,” she explained.
