Find some space in Beeliar

THE hills were alive with sound of music. Well they might have been if I was tall enough to see over the fence when the much taller agent pointed out the vista beyond.

What I could see was spaciousness, with a wide open sky, a swathe of grass for kids, a wonderfully sculptural weeping mulberry, and a cute Bali-style cabana with a lovely natural rock wall and water feature.

Climbing the golden-bamboo staircase to the huge open plan living area of this Birkett Avenue, Beeliar home I got to see what my taller companion had seen from the ground floor.

A stretch of mature trees dominated the foreground, and the Perth skyline seemed to float above the bush greenery, and to the east was the blue/grey of the Darling Range.

Appropriately called The Outlook, this four-bedroom/two-bathroom Webb and Brown-Neaves home is eight yeas old but looks brand new with its sophisticated, modern elegance.

Gleaming modernity

The ground floor is for the kids, with generous bedrooms and a large sitting room and covered patio.

The second level has a sweeping open plan of gleaming modernity under a soaring cathedral ceiling.

There’s an expanse of bench tops in the spacious kitchen, with its very generous breakfast bar island.

Modern stainless steel appliances, including a 900ml oven will keep the fussiest chef happy.

And a ducted vacuum system makes cleaning up any mess as simple as a click of a button.

Want to know what the kids are up to in the garden, or who’s knocking on the door? Just check out the split screen television mounted on the wall.

Come the warmer weather step out onto the generous balcony for a barbie with friends or a leisurely breakfast.

The parents’ wing is on this level. Imagine waking up each morning to the changing vista.

A gorgeous ensuite, with deep bath and double vanities, is accessed through a walk-in-robe and a bank of built-in-ones.

Sitting on 567sqm, it’s a great family home with spaces for coming together and spaces for a bit of solitude.

It’s close to schools, parks and public transport, and there’s a lovely little lake-side shopping centre and Indian restaurant in walking distance.
