This one had us in stitches

DID you know there’s a stitch so delicate it’s called the “forbidden stitch”? Neither did I until conversing with the Singaporean/Chinese/Australian vendor of this Fern Leaf Court, Leeming home.

No one knows exactly how it got its name, as it’s not known by that name in China where it originates, but one colourful explanation has European embroidery teachers imposing a ban because it was so small they feared their pupils would damage their eyesight trying to emulate the Chinese.

Convenient

Moving to Perth 13 years ago a rigorous search for just the right property for the family led the vendor to this four-bedroom/two-bathroom home.

But the kids have flown the nest and it’s time to downsize.

Leaving is always hard and the vendors will miss the ease of living in this well laid out abode – and its convenient location.

Its a mere four-minute drive to Leeming Forum, and there’s plenty of shopping choices close to hand.

Melville Glades Golf Course is a nine-hole stroll away and there’s huge playing fields catering to a swag of sports nearby.

Being close to Murdoch University was a must for the kids’ education for the vendor. Which means Fiona Stanley and St John of God’s Hospitals are just up the road too.

And with Roe Highway and the Freeway nearby all compass points are easily accessed.

Golden laminate timber floors shimmer throughout this large, contemporary home: “It’s very heavy duty… double padded so it’s very thick and cushioned,” the vendor says.

Step through the impressive double front doors, and you’re in an open entry vestibule, flanked by elegant formal lounge and dining areas, with a second sitting area/games room nearby.

The main bedroom is a massive space with a huge open ensuite, with spa and double vanities – and a separate loo.

The walk-in-robe is so spacious it has a door at each end.

A spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen separates the kids bedrooms, and is the heart of the home.

Modern and spacious the kitchen has a sweep of preparation area and a generous walk-in-pantry.

Alfresco dining is as simple as stepping out to the huge, covered patio, which is screened against annoying insects while taking in the manicured garden, with its super high noise barrier fencing.
