SIRONA CAPITAL has appointed Probuild as head contractor for the $220 million Kings Square redevelopment.
It means construction on the long-delayed project is now expected to go ahead in August, with work starting on the Queensgate site before the council workers move out a month later.
Both the private and public realms are due to be completed together in mid-2019, although Fremantle council’s director of city business Glen Dougall has flagged some peripheral works may be delayed until the city’s rate base increases with new apartments coming.
“The appointment of Probuild to undertake Kings Square Fremantle is an important milestone for Sirona Capital and for the Fremantle community,” the company’s managing director Matthew McNeilly said.
“Probuild is delivering the Towers and Ritz Carlton at Elizabeth Quay and NV Apartments in the Perth CBD.”
