FEDELE CAMARDA says he’s concerned about the future of Bruce Lee Oval under Fremantle council’s ambitious Heart of Beaconsfield redevelopment.
The cray fisherman has thrown his hat in the ring to tackle incumbent Hannah Fitzhardinge in the Beaconsfield ward, his campaign managed by former councillor John Alberti.
Mr Camarda says he’s troubled by talk the oval might disappear.
He says feedback from doorknocking led him to believe the council’s consultation has mis-fired.
“I’ve become very interested in the Heart of Beaconsfield project and I think we have to be considerate to the people that live in that community, and there are questions over whether those people have been consulted adequately.
“Then there’s a lot of the clubs in the area; I think we could resource them better and look after them better.”
