Melville council inquiry announced

BREAKING: The McGowan government has just announced it will conduct an inquiry into governance issues at the City of Melville. Local government minister David Templeman said the inquiry will explore whether there are underlying issues behind almost 300 complaints to his department. “This is not an accusation of wrongdoing or failure by the City of Melville, it is about ensuring improved outcomes and an improved relationship between the city and its residents,” Mr Templeman said today. “The Melville community deserves to have confidence in their elected members to provide good governance and services to their communities.” More in this week’s Herald.
