FREMANTLE needs emergency justices of the peace, pronto.

Pat Newton co-ordinates the roster for the Fremantle Association of Justices and says there’s not enough JPs as back-up if someone on the regular roster falls ill or goes on holiday.

Ms Newton says the emergency roster is perfect for fly-in, fly-out workers or others who have commitments that prevent them from taking on a regular shift.

Meanwhile the JPs have shifted along with Fremantle council down to the old Dockers headquarters at Fremantle Oval, and Ms Newton says with an office just inside the door of the temporary library, they’re very easy to find.
