AFTER a long stint in Booragoon, Alcoa is looking at relocating in June 2022.
The mining giant’s head office is beside Garden City shopping centre, which is to be redeveloped into a community/commercial hub by Melville council.
Landowners Iris Residential say they will start construction of Amara City Gardens – 124 apartments adjacent to Alcoa’s offices – early next year.
“The focus for the foreseeable future is on the successful delivery of Amara City Gardens, and there are no plans to progress further development at this stage,” said an Iris spokesperson.
The Herald asked Alcoa why they were considering moving their offices, and where to, but they were keeping their cards close to their hi-vis chest.
