A HERALD PROMOTIONAL FEATURE:
The award-winning Copper Chimney is a must-try!
Immerse yourself in the intoxicating flavours of India at Copper Chimney. This vibrant South Fremantle restaurant is a reflection of all that is wonderful about the sub-continent – a rich melting pot of colour, culture and sublime food.
Since 2012 the award-winning Copper Chimney has served customers authentic Indian cuisine made from traditional ingredients, sourced locally and from overseas.
Copper Chimney offers customers a vast menu made up of almost 120 mouthwatering dishes including a wide range of chicken, lamb, beef, goat and seafood curries.
Quality & Exceptional Value
“To me, it’s all about quality of produce. I never compromise when it comes to quality,” says owner and chef Elance Fernando. “While you’re eating at Copper Chimney, you can tell all our food is made from the best ingredients. Another essential reason why we’re successful is because of our affordability. We’re constantly getting feedback from our customers that they’re very satisfied with the pricing, quality and generous serves we offer.” One customer said she found us “top of the range of Indian Cuisine but at a very affordable price.”
A great example of Copper Chimney’s exceptional value is the Tandoori Tasting Plate ($21.50). It’s made up of smoky salmon, succulent chicken, plump prawns, juicy lamb seekh kebabs and smooth paneer tikka. It’s an exquisite plate, with every element masterfully prepared in the tandoor oven. If you love seafood then you can’t go past the magnificent Chilli Fish ($16). The large pieces of Red Emperor are coated in an Indian spice fusion and toasted with garlic, onion and mixed capsicum. This dish is a must-try.
Another impressive ocean delight comes courtesy of the Char Grilled Masala Fish ($19.50). Two flaky fillets of mildly spiced Red Emperor are served on a bed of mushrooms, spinach and cherry tomatoes prepared with a flavourful Kashmiri chilli and coconut sauce. It’s also served with four pieces of fluffy garlic naan – a great tool for soaking up the delicious curry. Popular with new and returning customers is the Goat Curry ($21.50). Marinated overnight in yogurt, onions and chef’s special spices, the generous portion of goat meat is tender, sweet and served in a smooth, rich curry.
For the early risers, Copper Chimney is one of the only Indian restaurants in Perth open for breakfast. There’s an appealing choice on offer, but the star of the show is the Dosa. For those not familiar with Dosa, it’s a large, flat pancake cooked on a hotplate, rolled and stuffed with potato, lamb mince, chicken or prawn filling and served with refreshing condiments. It’s a delightfully different and hearty way to start the day. Round off breakfast with a richly flavoured Indian coffee, infused with chicory, a masala tea or a mango lassi.
“Fremantle has a large population of well-travelled residents,” says Fernando. “We’ve found that most of them have been to India and tried the Dosa. We’ve included a variety of Dosa on our menu to transport those locals back to the India they fell in love with.”
Thali Lunch Specials
Copper Chimney also offers fantastic Thali lunch specials from just $18. Designed to share, these platters allow you to sample a little of everything on the menu. Meltingly tender chunks of meat; buttery, light-as-a-feather naan bread; crisp, spiced vegetables; cooling raita; creamy dhal; fluffy rice; crunchy pappadams and sweetly indulgent burfi to finish…it’s a feast for the senses. Choose from meat, seafood or vegetarian, beautifully presented in a specially designed Copper Chimney tray.
Fernando and Kaushal would like to thank the many local diners and the media who have helped us for the last 6 years to make Copper Chimney a resounding success. And the greatest gratitude must go to the man above – Jesus Christ, without whom nothing would be possible.
Make Copper Chimney your next stop for a special occasion, a night out with friends, a filling breakfast or a tasty lunch break from work.
