The great outdoors

EVEN if you live in a luxurious home with all the mod-cons and stunning city skyline views – like this beauty in Melville – it’s still good to step outside for a vitamin E boost.

Whether it’s a stroll to keep the dog off your back or a power walk to keep trim, it’s great there’s a bushland park around the corner from this new Olding Street home.

The bush isn’t so big you’ll need a search party or camping gear, but there’s some beaut native trees and bushes to make you feel a little less suburban.

You’ll probably catch the birdsong if you open the windows in the upstairs main bedroom first thing in the morning.

It’s a pretty dog-friendly park to boot, and if you think they like a romp around a barren patch of grass, wait to you see the field day they have with all those trees.

The home itself was built by Lomma Homes, who’ve been around for 40 years and know a thing or two about luxury. One of their Bicton homes scooped up no less than seven awards from the Housing Industry Association a couple of years ago.

Set on 395sqm, this home is built over two impressive levels, and has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, each with built-in robes and services by the main bathroom. If the kids are cosy enough with each other, you can avoid some of the morning rush by chucking one in the shower and another (or two) in the bath.

There’s a second living area at the rear with a study nook, which leads out to a covered alfresco area that overlooks a square of grass.

I could imagine sending the kids out the back while sitting upstairs enjoying the view of the river from the open plan area.

It’s got a lounge, dining and kitchen – complete with stainless steel Smeg appliances, stone benchtops and loads of storage.

The entire space opens out to the huge balcony perfect for entertaining family and friends.

Right up the back is the lux main bedroom with walk-in-robe and en suite.

There’s a double lock-up garage, ducted and zoned air-con, security alarm with video intercom, and a lift shaft built in if you’re not so mobile.

Around the corner is Melville Senior High School.
