A SENIOR staffer at Cockburn council has reportedly resigned amidst fraud allegations.
The council’s CEO Stephen Cain wouldn’t comment on the identity of the staff member, but confirmed their resignation and that “all associated information has been provided to the relevant statutory authorities”.
The Herald has been told the amount of money involved could be as high as $90,000, but was unable to confirm this. The tipster also claimed a relative of the staff member was involved.
The allegations centre around the council’s new $11.5 million depot and pound in Wellard Street, Bibra Lake.
