Election round-up

MELVILLE

Glynis Barber won Bicton-Attadale-Alfred Cove with 48.34 per cent of the vote, and Margaret Sandford took Central Ward with 40.87 per cent.

In Palmyra-Melville-Willagee, Tomas Fitzgerald got 28.77 per cent of the vote to beat incumbent Patricia Phelan (21.85 per cent) in a tight race.

In Bateman-Kardinya-Murdoch, Duncan Macphail got 30.13 per cent, beating deputy mayor Tim Barling.

Nicholas Pazolli held onto Applecross-Mt Pleasant with a strong 64 per cent, and Matthew Woodall was re-elected in Bull Creek-Leeming.

EAST FREMANTLE

East Fremantle had a quiet election with Cliff Collinson and Tony Natale winning the Plympton and Preston Point wards unopposed.

Richmond Ward was a two-way race, with Dean Nardi narrowly defeating Julie Amor by 35 votes.

Kerry Donovan won Woodside, fulfilling her pre-election promise of addressing the “gender imbalance” on East Freo.

COCKBURN

In Central Ward, Tom Widenbar took recently retired Stephen Pratt’s seat, beating Georgina Tagliaferri by 133 votes.

West Ward’s eight-way battle ended with Phoebe Corke winning with 31.54 per cent of the vote, defeating incumbent of 12 years and deputy mayor Carol Reeve-Fowkes.

Lara Kirkwood and Chamonix Terblanche were re-elected to East Ward.
