THERE was good news this week for neighbours of a noisy laneway in White Gum Valley.
Five months after complaining about the “thump, thump, thump” of delivery trucks bumping over tiny Lois Lane’s potholes (“Not so super,” Herald, July 27, 2019), residents this week got a letter from Freo council saying repair works start this week.
Joyce Allen, who’d said the noise kept her awake, told the Herald she was amazed to get the letter, given that she’d been told there wasn’t any money till next year.
The council will start the drainage this weekend, and the lane will be closed for resurfacing on Tuesday and Wednesday.
