FOUR of Perth’s most loved bands are joining together to raise money for fire ravaged Victorian and New South Wales communities.
WA musician John Butler, The Waifs, San Cisco and Stella Donnelly will rock the heritage listed Fremantle Arts Centre on Friday, January 31 (now sold out) and a second show has been announced for February 1.
All proceeds will go to WIRES Wildlife Rescue, the NSW Rural Fire Serve and the Vic Bushfire Appeal.
The Waifs’ Josh Cunningham, David Ross Macdonald and past members of the John Butler Trio have had to evacuate their homes in Victoria and New South Wales.
“Anxiety, fear, dread and terror are just a few of the emotions I’ve personally experience over the past weeks,” Cunningham says, counting himself one of the “lucky ones” as his home was spared.
A live recording of the night ($20) will be available within seven days of the concert, with 100 per cent of proceeds also being donated.
Tickets for Fire Aid are at FAC.oztix.com.au or the bands’ websites.
Fremantle eateries are also getting on board with Bib & Tucker, Manuka Woodfire Kitchen and Bread in Common joining forces for a joint dinner.
Staff are donating their time and suppliers have coughed up the produce.
All proceeds will be split between WIRES and the Australian Red Cross.
It’s Monday January 20. Tickets at Bib & Tucker.
