“The Boathouse” is on The Esplanade and has stunning views of the Mt Pleasant foreshore and the Swan River.

The owners have taken the maritime theme to heart and the house features a huge kitchen with bright aqua blue cabinets and drawers.

There’s some blue walls and tiles elsewhere and some of the chairs are even the same hue.

The colour scheme won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I found it refreshing and fun.

I’m jealous because there’s a good-sized games room down here, and another family room. 

Alternatively you could turn these into extra bedrooms when people come to stay.

Out the back is an enormous sheltered deck, surrounded by palms and lush foliage.

It feels very tropical and I could imagine sitting out here late at night with friends and family, drinking rum and coke.

This home has air con, a double garage and is situated on a 420sqm block on The Esplanade, so you have all the delights of the river and the foreshore at your fingertips.

Dome cafe is across the road, the shops are nearby, and there are lots of great schools in the catchment area.
