Art chosen

FREMANTLE council has approved an artwork referencing the city’s colonial and Indigenous heritage to grace Kings Square. The work, by artists Sharyn Egan and Simon Gilbey, interprets the position of the original St John’s Church in the square with 14 large stones representing the clans which make up Noongar territory. The stones would be sought from traditional owners and will link via mobile phones to a story from their clan area.
