THE City of Melville is set to ask residents how they want to celebrate Australia Day in 2022 and beyond.

Following the cancellation of Skyworks in 2021, mayor George Gear said the city was seeking inclusive ideas on how the community wanted to celebrate Australia, through the Melville Talks online platform and at the city’s libraries.

“Our vision, as set out in our Corporate Business Plan, is to engage with our diverse community to achieve an inclusive, vibrant and sustainable future and this engagement with the community is an important opportunity for the public to have their say,” said Mayor Gear.

The Chook noted that on the interactive comments page, changing the date was easily the most common suggestion.
