ANOTHER milestone in the Heart of Beaconsfield project has been reached, with the WA lands department negotiating to sell the old Tafe site.

Lands is negotiating with the communities department and Development WA over the future of the 38,208sqm block.

Fremantle council’s finance committee has given the sale its unanimous blessing and is urging whichever department ends up on the title to rezone as quickly as possible.

A masterplan for the Heart of Beaconsfield plan is now overdue, with the council and state partners having to test the viability of some of the land use options suggested.

A report says it’s expected by the end of this year.
