THE Southern Metropolitan Regional Council says legal action it’s taking against an engineering firm that built part of the facility has nothing to do with odour issues.
A statement issued by SMRC media handler Taryn Beagley says a supreme court writ was issued “in regard to an alleged breach of contract unconnected to any of the odour management systems”.
“The plant was constructed by the time the contract, the subject of the writ, was entered into,” Ms Beagley said.
The SMRC says the writ “will only be progressed if the dispute cannot be resolved”.
