You’ll be smacking your Cheops

There are numerous groups and societies dedicated to the promotion of mind, body or spiritual health through pyramids.

Perhaps the original owners, or the architect, of this Woodley Crescent, Melville home are members, because the parents’ wing forms a decided pyramid shape when you look at the plans.

The ensuite and separate loo sit at the top, a walk-in-robe in the middle and the huge bedroom, with its interesting sunken ceiling, forms the base.

The bedroom area has its own escape hatch—double glass doors leading to a private courtyard garden.

And if the garden isn’t soothing enough, a harassed parent could slip out the secure timber gate and be on Marmion Street in minutes, sipping coffee (or something stronger) and breathing in sanity at one of two delightful eateries.

The other three bedrooms form a separate wing with its own bathroom.

Being a subdivided block the rear garden is small, more a service area really.

But a massive, roofed deck at the front provides a great outdoor entertainment space for when the gang drops in—or just a pleasant space to read a book on your Pat Malone.

And there’s plenty of room in the solid fenced area for the kids to kick a ball with their mates.

The timber deck flows inside through a bank of bifold doors to meet the jarrah floors of the open plan living/dining/kitchen.

Whipping up a meal for guests, or family, would be easy in the well appointed kitchen with its plentitude of cupboards, including a double pantry, and wide granite bench tops.

Family-friendly

This is a family-friendly part of town, with lots of parks and open spaces, close to schools, including Melville Senior High, which was awarded top school status in 2006/7/8/9/10 and 11. And, according to the education website, year 9 students exceeded state and national averages in the NAPLAN test.

Living here everyone is well serviced with plenty of shopping choices, a medial centre mere minutes walk away, those cafes and a great fish and chip shop.

And of course Marmion Street is on the main bus route—whether you’re heading to Fremantle, Garden City or Perth.
