NAKED FIG, Swanbourne:
There aren’t many restaurants in Perth with views as good as Swanbourne’s Naked Fig (unless you’re counting South Freo’s Pickled Fig Cafe). Its sunny alfresco area, gazes out at the Indian Ocean and is perfect for relaxed summer get together with friends and family. And for the cooler months its quirky, plush interior offers a warm alternative, perfect for a cosy breakfast, lunch or dinner.
More important than the exceptional views is the Naked Fig’s unique take on food. Their philosophy is fresh, simple and affordable. The ingredients? Great coffee. Amazing Food. Stunning sunsets. Fresh, healthy juices. Lots of Vego options. Once you’ve dined at the Fig you’re sure to return again and again, each time discovering something new on the menu or creative offers like the Fig Caffeine Society, Eat for Free on your birthday, high tea and the vego feast.
Now they’re introducing a winter special event at Swanbourne’s Naked Fig: six Naked Degustation Wine Dinners up until the end of September.
At just $99 per person each dinner will boast 6 fabulous courses accompanied at each evening by one of 6 heavenly wines including Howard Park, Grant Burge, Devil’s Lair, Miles from Nowhere and Penfolds. Bookings are essential. Don’t miss it.
Naked Fig’s head chef Chris May is remarkable at his craft. Some noteworthy dishes you’ll find on his menu include the scallop & tarragon tortellini, shellfish cappuccino. The tarragon is perfectly balanced with the scallops never overpowering the delicate seafood flavour.
If it’s something more substantial you crave, you can’t go past the beef blade. Slow braised in merlot and served with a subtle white bean puree, juicy shitake mushrooms and butter poached spring onions, you’ll be challenged to find a better cooked meal in the area. The beef is so tender it melts in your mouth and trickles its powerful flavour across your tastebuds.
For the sweet tooth you’ll be pleasantly surprised with this unique little gem; Popcorn panna cotta accompanied by vanilla sugar popcorn and butterscotch sauce. The moment the panna cotta hits your mouth the flavour of the popcorn is a sweet surprise that will leave you wondering how the chef could have possibly formulated it. The Naked Fig stands out amongst the crowd of Perth’s dining scene. Its interior: gorgeous. Its 180 degree views: ravishing. And most importantly its food: second to none.
