FREMANTLE city council has sunk the Fremantle Sailing Club’s bid to build a boat ramp on South Beach. In a unanimous decision the council rejected the proposal, although south ward’s Jon Strachan suggested the club could try to bypass the council and ask the WA government to approve the project. He doesn’t think it’d have much luck without council support, however.
