Clancy’s owner Joe Fisher (right) says a new lease for the popular pub will ensure Princess May Park maintains its “family feel”.
“More trees and climbing things for children would be good,” he told the Herald after council allocated $850,000 towards the first stage of the Film and Television Institute’s upgrade next door.
Mr Fisher says he’s been negotiating for a long-term lease for the past two years: “We’re close to finalising the lease,” he says. “In return we will be spending a bit of money on the buildings here, on plumbing, electrics.”
Mayor Brad Pettitt says the council funding will fund the first of four stages dealing primarily with the roof and ceilings.
