Garden sheds often have me thinking of a Monty Python skit about Arthur “Two Sheds” Jackson.
Terry Jones plays composer Jackson being interviewed about his music.
But the interviewer (Eric Idle) keeps asking about his nickname “Two Sheds” and whether he has two of them.
Things rapidly descend into classic Pythonesque farce.
Jackson didn’t have two sheds and neither does this Rennie Crescent home—but it does have two front entries.
The regular one is an imposing set of double timber doors, opening onto a spacious tiled entry.
Commercial kitchen
The one next to it is less grand but opens onto a huge, jaw-dropping, fully-kitted out commercial kitchen.
The vendor is a pastry chef and the kitchen has a gargantuan, stainless-steel island bench with an equally generous slab of mellow, aged marble—the perfect cold surface for making perfect pastry.
Whether this space remains a kitchen or is transformed into a home office or granny flat there’s plenty of potential.
And now, as the Python gang would say, for something completely different.
Just a few years old this three-bedroom/two-bathroom home, sitting on 448sqm, has funky skillion roof pitches—and its own sauna in which to par-boil the bod into good health.
It’s in the bathroom off the main bedroom in a funky bathroom with an antique-look vanity, huge shower and a rather attractive green, terrazzo floor.
The open-plan living area is full of interesting angles and a starburst of light from a plethora of windows, including a couple of walls of floor to ceiling glass and a bank of windows under the soaring, roof-pitch.
The tiled kitchen is generous, with a huge island bench, pantry and plenty of drawers and bench space.
Step down into the the dining/family/living area and you’ll find generous spaces and gorgeous native hardwood floors glowing a soft honey gold.
Timber meets slate in the covered patio, enclosed in a compact and very private garden, just the spot for a bit of alfresco dining, or simply relaxing with the paper on the weekend.
Or you could wander down to a very popular local cafe, which is mere blocks away.
And when it comes to shopping the local supermarket is just about walking distance too—as is Hilton primary school.
