There has always been a relationship between skateboarders and visual art so Cockburn council is melding the two for a new piece of public art work.

The council wants youngsters to help paint 70 skateboard decks with artist Lisa Dymond for a piece called Getting Air. The decks will form part of a moving sculpture, which will generate electricity and light at the Market Garden Swamp skate park in Spearwood.
