MYER might have pulled the old plastic pot plants from its former Freo store, but from this weekend real foliage will start to spring up from the roof of the building.

This Sunday from 2pm will see the launch of FreOasis, a community garden, where locals can grow fruit, veg and herbs, check out acquaponic systems, a geodesic dome and learn about about permaculture and sustainability.

And while local green thumbs are getting down and dirty, they can listen to tunes from Timothy Nelson and the Infidels and Dilip n the Davs.
