All about life in style

LIFESTYLE figures large in the list of favourite things compiled by the vendors of this East Fremantle home.

And with four ovals nearby and the river on the doorstep you can see why.

“Nearly all sporting activities are covered, river, recreational parks, playgrounds, fishing, jumping off jetties and picnic dinners on what our kids consider our private beach directly across the road,” they say.

The spacious four-bedroom/two-bathroom home is open, warm and friendly–and clearly a great place to raise a family.

Early art deco credentials can be found throughout, with plenty of gorgeous lead light doors and windows—including a couple of bay windows, rich jarrah floors, and magnificently ornate ceilings.

But while boasting all the classic features of a Californian bungalow it’s been brought into the 21st century with sweeping open spaces.

The huge modern kitchen is a picture in black and white, with acres of glistening black granite bench tops and slick white cupboards. And there’s a massive walk-in pantry tucked around the corner.

Washing up would be a pleasure as you take in the river, or watch the action on the oval across the road through the bay window.

“there’s more time for lifestyle,”

People-watching is another of the vendor’s favourite pasttimes, and I could see why as I leant on the bench watching a dad and young son playing on the oval while people happily walked their dogs.

“There’s always life and activity going on, from when you wake up to when you go to bed. It gives a great feel of life and energy,” she smiles.

For a bit of at-home activity, invite mates around and throw open the double lead-light doors onto the lovely covered patio to enjoy the alfresco ambience, or make it a pool party and guests will be delighted to be swimming with a view.

The bedrooms are all double, but the main is larger, a spacious room with cute french doors and lead-light windows, ensuite, and a dressing room/walk-in robe.

Under the house is a spacious storeroom, or workshop, and the double carport is fronted by decorative, wrought iron security gates.

There’s no shortage of shops and cafes nearby and the delightful Richmond primary school is walking distance.

And along with the solar-heated pool there’s plenty to keep the kids active on this 593sqm property, with a cubby house, hopscotch and a sandpit.

And being low maintenance, “there’s more time for lifestyle,” the vendor says.
