If you’re romantic, single and a green thumb, love might be awaiting you across a weed. Keen to attract some young adults to its ranks, the Hilton Harvest Community Garden has organised “weed dating” for Valentine’s Day.
It’s like speed dating except you’ll be pulling out weeds while chatting for 15 minutes, before being sent to a new patch and potential love interest, says group chair Amy Warne.
She says the group has loads of youngsters and seniors in the group thanks to the Buds and Blooms project, but is keen for some middlish bods. It kicks off at 5pm on Rennie Cres and there’s a pot luck dinner afterwards.
