Fighting hunger through art
During sculpture and ceramics this term, Perth Waldorf school class 9 students are learning how to make functional ceramic pieces and using their skills to create works which will be donated to Empty Bowls Perth. Works will be sold in June and all proceeds will go to Foodbank – the major food donation organisation in WA.
The school now has an amazing new electric kiln, thanks to a grant from Cockburn Council, and a donation from the P&F. The school has continued to fundraise to cover any additional costs. The kiln is also available to hire, so if other schools, organisations or individuals wish to fire ceramic items, please contact ceramics teacher Danica Wichtermann via the school.
