ALDI has dropped plans to set up in Hilton, but there are rumours it’s looking further along South Street at Kardinya.

The supermarket giant confirmed to the Herald this week it had given up on its Hilton development, which was widely panned by locals and the council for turning its back on the neighbourhood and pushing out local traders.

“We work closely with local planning bodies like council, other businesses and community groups to ensure Aldi will positively impact the community,” a spokesperson told the Herald.

A new sign offering the Hilton Fresh centre for sale as a “development site” has gone up.
