Win one of 5 x Double Passes to see Rhys Nicholson at the Fremantle Festival
The sartorially splendid Rhys Nicholson heads to Fremantle Festival for one night only following sell-out comedy festival seasons around the country this year of his hit solo show, Forward.
Nicholson will perform at the Fremantle Town Hall on Thursday October 29, fresh from this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August, as well as solo shows at London’s Soho Theatre.
Forward is Nicholson’s fourth solo show, and follows another hit festival season for this emerging comedian, including growing critical acclaim for his incisive comedy which regularly fill houses both here and overseas.
This year, Nicholson’s show is about heirlooms and legacies. When/if he dies, what will he be remembered for? Seventy glittering years in showbiz? Best Tilda Swinton look-alike? Most innovative penis joke?
It’s a long way from the 2009 RAW Comedy final for the winner of the 2012 Sydney Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer. The champion of self-deprecating, confessional and upfront content, “Mama Showbusiness” has left his mark on 2014 with encore shows, his second Edinburgh Festival Fringe, a solo season at London’s SOHO Theatre, and Just For Laughs Sydney 2014 at the Opera House.
Late last year, Nicholson – together with fellow comedian Joel Creasey – starred in “Gaycrashers”, a well-received half-hour doco from the third instalment of ABC2/Screen Australia’s Opening Shot series which aired in November 2014 to rave reviews.
Come to Forward’s Fremantle show and help Nicholson determine how we’ll look back on his life.
Rhys will be appearing at the Fremantle Festival, Thursday, 29 October. Bookings and tickets at fremantlefestival.oztix.com.au or 08 9432 9737
