School fire

THE arson squad is investigating a fire at Lakeland Senior High School which caused $400,000 damage.

Two adjoining demountable classrooms were destroyed in the blaze last Friday night, but the South Lake school was open for students Monday morning.

“There was minimum disruption as alternative arrangements were made for students who were going to be taught in those rooms,” says WA education media officer Maria D’Agostino.

WA Police says there is no update. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
