BATHERS and an appreciation of Aboriginal art go hand in hand as Artitja Fine Art kicks off its ninth annual gift collection exhibition at Bathers Beach, Fremantle.

Beach-goers can wander into the pop-up gallery wearing togs to check out the gallery’s mix of art, sculpture, textiles, ceramics and jewellery by indigenous artist from some of Australia’s most remote communities.

“Part of our objective is to show how accessible Australian indigenous art can be–and we can to educate newcomers of the importance and beauty of the art and its culture,” Anna Karnaris says.

Housed in a former cafe on the eastern side of the building it’s on December 2–January 31.
