Unique and amazing

HIGH on the Beaconsfield ridge this amazing home started life out as something a little less grand, but you’d be hard pushed to see where the old ends and the new begins.

Stepping into the immaculate, and uber-stylish front courtyard I assumed I was looking at a ground floor kitchen and living area.

How wrong I was I discovered, making the second level my first destination.

“There’s another kitchen up here,” I told the cute black dog following me in surprise.

The downstairs, the agent helpfully pointed out, is purely for alfresco entertaining, albeit on a mind-bogglingly elegant scale.

The second level is the addition, a sweeping open living/dining/kitchen with views to Garden Island and Kwinana and across to Carnac Island.

Beautiful blackbutt floors add a rich colour and texture to this pristine white space, where the ceiling is held aloft by a tree-trunk buffed to a natural soft biscuit colour.

The kitchen is huge with caesar stone tops, a huge double pantry, and three very stylish lights over the breakfast bar/island.

Almost floor-to-ceiling stack doors off the dining area peel back giving access to a sliver of balcony that’s more about brining the outdoors in than a place to sit.

The main bedroom is on the upper level, a huge space with walk-in-robe and a ensuite where the jarrah tops are made from recycled timber from the original home’s roof timber.

Doors lead to a large balcony with views down to Clontarf Hill. You’ll find two more bedrooms on the ground floor, along with a lounge/games room which can be opened on two sides thanks to  stacking doors.

What I thought was the main kitchen is a long-lean galley space with sink and cupboards and a five-burner stove top.

Crowning the alfresco area is a large, and manicured, courtyard with a mix of paving, timber decking and synthetic lawn, a covered patio and a large water feature, all tucked behind a high wall in a private and tranquil setting.

Living here you’re walking distance to shops and South Fremantle’s growing cafe strip.
