Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s new production!
Immerse yourself in the imagination of a child during the April school holidays with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s acclaimed production of The Little Prince adapted by Simon Clarke from the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Readers have the chance to win 1 of 5 family passes to the opening performance on Saturday 9 April.
Saint-Exupéry’s exquisite tale explores human nature and the peculiarities of the adult world as perceived by a child. It offers a gentle introduction to philosophy for young audience members by encouraging reflection on their own relationships and morals.
For more than 70 years, this timeless story, translated into over 250 languages, has brought joy to adults and children alike with its beautiful insights and humour. The story does not exclusively fall within the children’s or adult literature category but finds itself somewhere in-between offering great intergenerational value.
Associate Director of Spare Parts and director of the production, Michael Barlow, said that The Little Prince is an imaginative and vivid adventure story that celebrates the things that give our lives meaning:
“The story speaks strongly about what really matters in life. It isn’t expensive or material things that have the greatest value, it’s the people we form relationships with,” he said.
Performed at Spare Parts’ home theatre in Fremantle, The Little Prince runs from 9 to 23 April, Monday to Saturday with two shows daily at 10am and 1pm and a special Friday evening performance on 22 April at 6.30pm. Book online 24/7 at http://www.sppt.asn.au or by calling 9335 5044. No shows on Sundays or public holidays. Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is at 1 Short Street, Fremantle (opposite train station).
