Bruce, almighty

THE river glistened enticingly on a hot day, and a paddle-boarder serenely glided by, framed by an attractive timber bridge and the expansive foreshore parkland fronting this Bruce Street, North Fremantle home.

The temptation to grab a bottle from the massive wall-mounted wine rack in the spacious open-plan and chill in the covered alfresco area was hard to resist.

Limestone and iron fences separate a swathe of synthetic lawn and an timber deck from the view and it would have been no effort to spend the afternoon, expect for people at the home open oohing and aahing over this three-bedroom abode.

Floor-to-ceiling bifold doors from the generous open-plan to the covered alfresco area were being measured by one couple for some reason, curtains or fly screening perhaps, and despite the size of the kitchen things got a bit tight as the many drawers were tried, the huge pantry checked out, and the white caesar stone bench tops, including a generous island, were patted.

The middle level of this three-storey home holds two of the bedrooms, along with a games room with a wet bar and a large balcony over looking the river, great for older kids who won’t leave home no doubt.

A gabled wall of glass on the third level takes the view to a whole new level, this vast space houses the main bedroom, with an expanse of timber flooring and a gabled ceiling, and a large balcony.

The ensuite is semi open, with a spa and double vanities, and there’s a laundry chute in the walk-in-robe.

This riverfront abode would suite those looking to downsize, without compromising quality and lifestyle.

And if you’re chasing the retiree dream there’s no shortage of cafes and bars within walking distance.
