It’s Freolicious, baby

FREMANTLE’S West End will temporarily be whisked back to the 1960s next weekend.

High Street will be closed from Market Street to the Roundhouse and parking bays filled with classic cars and motorbikes.

Event organiser Adin Lang wants people to come down in 1960s clothes to create an Austin Power’s vibe.

“The pubs and record shops will be blaring out 60s music and everyone will be dressed up and having a great time,” he says.

“We are going to have a fashion parade and at 2pm we are going to try and do the biggest bog lap of Fremantle ever with all our classic cars.”

The event will be held from 10am to 2pm on Sunday, June 5 as part of the Fremantle Heritage Festival.

  1. Fremantle herald Could you please ask If Adin Lang had a permit for his event this morning in the centre of Fremantle? I am sure there are many community groups who have had their event cancelled due to the council red tape …….good example was the Valentines car event which was in Aid of Prostate Cancer……they had to use a public car park because the council made it to hard to organise. I wonder is the Lilly St Lasagna completion organisers could save $17k in council required traffic management just by getting Adin Lang involved. The question has to be asked why is our Mayor helping Adin Lang so much? mayor Brad is he one our next hand picked councillors? Which Ward?

  2. Fremantle herald Could you please ask If Adin Lang had a permit for his event this morning at the corner of Cliff and High streets where his photo shoot held up traffic and caused a traffic hazard for people trying to cross the already busy corner? Apparently no permit and no traffic management signs. I am sure there are many community groups who have had their event cancelled due to the council red tape ……. good example was the Valentine’s Day car event which was in Aid of Prostate and Breast Cancer……they had to use a public car park. I wonder is the Lilly St Lasagna completion organisers could save $17k in council required traffic management just be getting Adin Lang involved. The question has to be asked why is our Mayor helping Adin Lang so much?
