THERE are down-lights in the kitchen, down-lights in the bathrooms, down-lights in the living areas and even the huge theatre room – 110 in total, the vendor says.
He had a heavy hand in the building of this stunning, architecturally designed abode, tackling many tasks himself.
Fronted by a spacious timber deck it was built as a family home and nothing was too good.
The super-high doors (2.4 metres), multitude of gorgeous timber window and door frames, and honey-gold bamboo floors – dubbed the “green timber” because of its sustainability — attest to his commitment to quality.

When it came to the kitchen benchtops the only green granite in the state was snapped up: “There were two sheets and we bought them.”
With their swathes of sage-green swirled with white and light touches of soft-brown the vast island and adjacent bench tops are worthy of hanging in an art gallery.
The second-level kitchen/living/dining area is a vast light-filled space, with a soaring skillion ceiling and a wall of bifold glass doors onto a balcony. It overlooks a swathe of green parkland at South Fremantle High School over the road.
Timber doors conceal a huge fridge and there’s a second pull-out one. The kitchen also features a huge pull-out pantry and a couple of smaller herb and spicy ones flanking the stove.

When fresh herbs are required there’s a large aquaponic garden on the balcony.
The main bedroom is on this level and it’s a vast domain with a recessed ceiling, dressing room and ensuite with heated floors and towel rail.
Marble is the stone of choice for the bathrooms, and the ensuite’s is a gorgeous chocolate-and-vanilla ice cream swirl of brown and white.
Three more bedrooms and a study are all double size, and one has a semi-ensuite.

Keep walking and you’ll find a covered patio and barbeque kitchen, with gorgeous granite tops. It’s so new the barbeque was being fitted as I rocked up.
With a high school across the road, and local primary school a five minute walk away this is an ideal family home.
And with a great farmers market at the high school on Sundays keeping them fed will never be easier.
