DOG walker Andrew MacFarlane was so fed up with the dog poo along South and CY O’Connor beaches he decided to clean them up himself.
After just four days he’s bagged over 250 dog turds, weighing around eight kilos, as well as two bin bags full of plastic bottles, fast food containers and napkins.
Surprisingly, he also found a large amount of poop that had already been bagged and left behind on the dunes.

“I used to walk my 10-year-old border collie, Calico, at the beach but it had to be put down last year, so I hadn’t been down for a bit,” he says.
“I recently got a new puppy called Disco and ‘cause I haven’t been at the beach for a while I began to notice the vast amount of dog poo lying around.
“It really got to me and I decided to do something about it. Hopefully my actions will raise the standard of dog ownership — I see so many badly trained animals,” he says.
