WILLAGEE MLA Peter Tinley paid tribute to the 339 Australians who lost their life in the “forgotten war” last week.
The former SAS officer attended a memorial service for Korean War veterans, held by Cockburn’s RSL at Memorial Hall Monument in Hamilton Hill.

“The Korean War is often referred to as the ‘forgotten war’, as a war-weary public looked to put WWII in the past,” Mr Tinley says.
“Over 17,000 members of the professional defence force served in Korea, making it largely unnoticeable compared to the great waves of Australians involved in the European and Asia Pacific campaigns in the preceding decade.“
Later this month the Cockburn RSL will be commemorating Vietnam War veterans at the memorial.
The ceremony will be on Thursday August 18 at 10.30am.
