MELVILLE council’s so excited about Book Week, it’s extended it into a fortnight of events until August 26.
Storyteller Glenn Swift will hold interactive story sessions at AH Bracks, Bull Creek, and Civic Square libraries on the theme of ‘Australia! Story Country’.
Children are invited to don their pyjamas for the evening sessions which will engage, enthral and inspire youngsters with some slightly twisted Aussie fairy tales.

Staff at the five libraries will also host reading hours, and kids are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Australian book character.
“I also encourage the wider community to visit the libraries during August to see the fantastic displays created by our staff to promote the event. It is so heartening to see children’s faces light up at these displays year after year,” says Mayor Russell Aubrey.
Free evening sessions with Glenn Swift are from 5.30 – 6.30pm but need a booking. They’re on August 22 at Civic Square library, August 23 at AH Bracks library, and August 25 at Bull Creek library.
