Hachiko tells the remarkable true story of a Tokyo professor and his faithful dog, who waited at a Tokyo train station every day for nine years for his master to return. Utilising Japanese inspired paper craft puppetry, the production brings Hachiko and Professor Ueno to vivid life with tenderness and humour. Simplicity, beauty and gentle poetic storytelling allows both children and adults to be drawn into the true story of why dogs are indeed our best friends. At 50 minutes and suitable for ages 5 and above, Hachiko is a show for the whole family to share.

Performed at Spare Parts’ home theatre in Fremantle, Hachiko runs from 8 to 22 April, Monday to Saturday 10am and 1pm daily (excluding Easter public holidays), with a special evening performance on Wednesday 12 April at 6.30pm. Book online 24/7 at http://www.sppt.asn.au or by calling 9335 5044.
